Implementation of higher order sliding mode control of DC–DC buck converter fed permanent magnet DC motor with improved performance

In this paper, an attempt is made to improve the performance of permanent magnet DC (PMDC) motor using third order sliding mode control. From derived mathematical modelling for buck converter fed motor, expressions both classical surface (CSS) and proportional integral derivative (PIDSS) with control compared analytically. Simulation work done PI controller, (SMC), CSS PIDSS by Matlab/Simulink validate above said controllers under no-load condition various load torque conditions such as: constant torque, frictional fan type propeller undefined torque. Experimental results are obtained PMDC proposed method speeds different conditions. Comparisons carried out in simulation real time SMC, based on speed settling steady state error. Satisfactory presented paper.
